Final week 3 blog 1

Prioritizing Priorities, What does that mean? Jim Steiner had set goals for his life and prioritized them that he could accomplish them. It took him a very long time but if you were to ask him what he is up to now, he would say “He is one of the top sports agents in the country”. Jim for 20 years thought about his career and family. One thing I thought was cool that he said ” Don’t chase the money. Money won’t make you successful. Chase success; that will make you successful”. Money is great to have, but a lot of people say money can’t buy happiness. I totally agree. When you are happy with your family that is total happiness no matter how much money you have. If you buy everything you will continue to buy things to make your self happier, like I said money can’t buy happiness. Jim made goals for him self to make things better with his family like going to one dance lesson a day, and golf at least three days a week just to get better at his own goals. I have set goals for my self as well as Jim did. I did not make assigned things to do like Jim did with golf and dance lessons. Jim also prioritized his process goals. Jim says something about Prioritize The Priorities If you want to achieve your product goals and live your vision of self image, process goal completion must be the priority each and every day”.

In another chapter Jim says that we can come up with many different reasons why we do not do the most important things every day, It is because we are allowing ourselves to be distracted. Right now I am getting distracted everyday that comes closer to being done with school. This has happened a lot of times before in my times as a student. Because I allow myself to get distracted, I am allowing my self to live a stressful part of my life. What sucks about living in a stressful situation that I made for my self is i’m putting the urgent stuff aside and doing things that I do not need to do. Every one has done this before and everyone knows what it feels like to be behind. It sucks. If I want to get passed that I need to Start prioritizing my product goals, and my process goals. Jim talks about fear of failure or fear of rejection. I think that fear and failure are both good, they both have a learning experience behind them. I have learned a lot from failure, with wrestling, school, and being a friend. In my opinion if you embrace the failure that have gone through and prevail from it. There will be a lot of things that you will learn from it. We find psychological tendency to procrastinate so we do not have to face those tendencies. I need to work on getting better with procrastination and getting better on getting things done.
